Summary

On the same day the reconstituted board elected the President chairman, the Kennedy Center emailed the International Pride Orchestra — a volunteer LGBTQ ensemble based in San Francisco — that "We are no longer able to advance your contract at this time," terminating negotiations for a WorldPride concert scheduled for June 5, 2025. No further explanation was given. The orchestra's founder said the Center had become "a hostile performance space." The concert was relocated to the Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
