Summary
A parallel action filed February 10, 2025 (D.D.C. 1:25-cv-00401, Lamberth, J.) on behalf of "Jane Jones" and other transgender women facing imminent transfer to men's facilities and loss of gender-dysphoria care under EO 14168. The court entered TRO/preliminary-injunction relief in orders of February 13 and March 3, 2025, applying the reasoning of Doe v. McHenry; the March 3 order extended protection to four plaintiffs added by amended complaint, noting that before the EO, BOP itself had determined a women's facility was appropriate for each plaintiff "considering all statutorily and constitutionally required factors," and that the EO was the only changed circumstance.
Status
Consolidated for appeal with Doe and Moe (D.C. Cir., consolidated April 30, 2025; vacated/remanded April 17, 2026); plaintiffs covered by the June 7, 2026 individualized injunction in the consolidated district-court proceedings. Pending. (See section 10.)
