- Institutional compliance
Summary
The June 12, 2026 memorandum imposed a 14-day compliance clock. By June 26, 2026, VHA senior leaders, VISN directors and medical center directors were required to confirm in writing that all non-compliant activities had ceased and that all employees had been advised of the new requirements. A separate 30-day clock required position descriptions for the redesignated care coordinators to be updated (i.e., by approximately July 12, 2026). The certification requirement converts the directive into an auditable, facility-by-facility attestation — the mechanism by which a national policy statement becomes documented local action at each VA medical center.
Status
Deadline passed; certifications reported as required. VA did not publish the certifications; no public accounting of facility-level compliance was located. (See also section 13.)
