Summary

Secretary Duffy's memorandum "Ensuring Reliance Upon Sound Economic Analysis in Department of Transportation Policies, Programs, and Activities" (announced with a companion "Woke Rescission" directive) ordered DOT components to "identify and eliminate" all orders, directives, rules, notices, guidance, funding agreements, programs, and policy statements that "in any way" relate to DEI, racial equity, or gender-identity policies, and directed implementation of EO 14168 across DOT. DOT grant recipients were subsequently warned (April 2025) that continued funding was conditioned on compliance with the administration's DEI-related executive orders.

Status

In effect; DOT-administered grant conditions incorporating "gender ideology" restrictions were among those challenged and enjoined in King County v. Turner (see 2025-03 HUD grant-conditions item).
