Summary
NIH's human-subjects inclusion policy pages carry a last-updated date of July 18, 2025. The inclusion topic index lists only two policies — "Inclusion of Women and Minorities as Participants in Research Involving Human Subjects" and "Inclusion Across the Lifespan in Human Subjects Research" — and the women-and-minorities policy page uses "sex" throughout ("composition of the proposed study population in terms of sex and racial and/or ethnic minority groups"; "analyses of the primary outcome by sex and race and/or ethnicity") with no reference to sexual and gender minorities, gender identity, or SGM populations. NOT-OD-19-139, which directed attention to SGM inclusion and data collection in NIH-supported research, remains live in the Guide but is no longer reflected in the operative policy pages.
