Summary
Brown signed an agreement restoring more than $50 million in frozen federal research funding in exchange for, among other terms, adopting the federal government's binary definitions of "male" and "female" — derived from EO 14168 — across all single-sex campus facilities, not merely athletics. Reporting and advocacy groups described the effect as rendering restrooms, locker rooms and sex-designated housing functionally inaccessible to transgender students.
Status
In effect; the broadest sex-definition commitment among the 2025 Ivy League agreements. (See also sections 5 and 9.)
