Presidential memorandum withdrawing from UN Women and other international bodies

Withdraws the United States from 66 international organizations and instruments, including the "UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women" (UN Women), the UN Population Fund, and the UN Democracy Fund, on a general finding that membership is "contrary to the interests of the United States." The memorandum contains no express gender-ideology language; its transgender relevance is the exit from the UN's principal gender-equality body, consistent with the administration's foreign-assistance gender-ideology rules issued the same month (see section 8). 91 FR 2281 (Jan. 16, 2026).
