Summary

OCR proclaimed June "Title IX Month" (a counter-programming of Pride Month highlighting anti-"gender ideology" enforcement) and the same day issued Jeffco (Colorado's second-largest district, 75,000 students) a Notice of Directed Investigation alleging its Policy JB-R2 discriminates against girls by permitting transgender students to use girls' bathrooms and locker rooms, play girls' sports, and share overnight accommodations on school trips - and by telling parents that overnight rooming is separated by "gender" without disclosing the district's definition. OCR demanded 12 categories of documents; Jeffco fully responded July 7, 2025.

Status

Findings issued March 13, 2026; enforcement escalation and Jeffco's suit followed (below).
