AmeriCorps drops gender identity from grant nondiscrimination terms

AmeriCorps' FY2025 General Grant and Cooperative Agreement Terms and Conditions removed gender, gender identity, and gender expression from the nondiscrimination provision (Section IV.M.1) that binds AmeriCorps grantees and programs, in the course of the agency's compliance review under the January 20, 2025 DEI and "gender ideology" executive orders. The removal withdraws contractual nondiscrimination coverage for transgender AmeriCorps members and service participants. The revised terms state that they are effective January 20, 2025. They replaced the previously posted FY2025 terms sometime between February 16 and 22, 2025: Internet Archive captures of the same URL show the old text on February 15 and the revised text on February 22. AmeriCorps announced the revision in a February 27, 2025 bulletin.
