SUPPLEMENT: NIH'S SEXUAL AND GENDER MINORITY RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE WAS DISMANTLED — DISTINCT FROM THE GRANT TERMINATIONS THE INDEX ALREADY COVERS

Summary

NIH announced plans to prioritize grants studying "negative consequences of gender-affirming care, such as regret and detransition." Taken together with the dismantling of the SGMRO and the narrowing of the health-disparity designation, this replaces a portfolio organized around SGM health disparities with one organized around harms attributed to transition-related care.
