Summary

Following EO 14168, the National Park Service deleted the words "transgender" and "queer" from the Stonewall National Monument webpage, replacing "LGBTQ+" references with "LGB" and recasting the Stonewall Uprising as part of an "LGB rights movement" — removing transgender people (including central figures of the 1969 uprising) from the federal government's official commemoration of it. Seventy-two House Democrats and New York officials demanded restoration. The edit was part of a broader Interior/NPS scrub of gender-identity content after the executive order.
