SEN. SOMERS, 18th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING SURGERY ON MINORS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to prohibit health care 1 providers from performing surgery on minors for the purpose of sex 2 reassignment or treatment of gender dysphoria or incongruence, except 3 for instances of birth defects. 4 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that the best interests of minors are protected when experiencing gender dysphoria or incongruence.
