Validity of marriages.

A BILL
for
AN ACT relating to marriage; providing that marriages other

than of a male and female person contracted out of state
2
shall not be given effect in Wyoming; and providing for an

effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. W.S. 20-1-111 is amended to read:
8

20-1-111. Out of state marriages.

(a) All marriage contracts which are valid by the
12
laws of the country under the authority of the foreign
13
nation in which contracted are valid in this state,
14
provided that such marriage contracts are between a male
15
and a female person.

(b) All marriage contracts which are valid under the
2
authority of a state, commonwealth, territory, district or
3
possession of the United States are valid in this state
4
provided that such marriage contracts are between a male
5
and a female person.

Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon
8
completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
9
as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
10
Constitution.
