Bills
Bills about LGBTQ+ people in U.S. state legislatures and Congress, labeled by side. Each bill listed has its own text on file.
Filters
Category tag groups each macro (the text before the
colon) with its subtypes. Choose All … for a macro to get every
bill with the macro or any subtype, counted once; the number beside it is
bills, so it can be smaller than its subtypes' numbers added together.
Matching is exact (case and spacing ignored), never a part of a word.
Bill type definitions explains each one.
These filters apply to the bill explorer and to the counts on the Stats tab, and stay set as you move between them. Outcome is the tracker's own coding of how each bill ended.
Also: model bills and topics · hearings · search the whole site, by words or by meaning.

Corpus stats
Direct model-free counts from the tracker's curated
tags — instant, exact, and the quickest way to spot-check a number the
assistant gives you. Uses the Search filters above (set side / state /
year / Category tag there first). A tag match is substring-based: the
umbrella “Gender Affirming Care” tag rolls up all its
“Ban: Minors,” “Ban: Public Funds,” etc.
subtypes automatically. Counts are introductions: cross-filed
House/Senate companions and refiles each count separately.
