Verification note. Question wording, total and full crosstab read directly off the public Cygnal deck PDF (chart slide rendered to image and read; the deck's figures are drawn as chart graphics, not selectable text). Field dates, n and MoE from the deck cover slide. Cygnal publishes no methodology statement with these decks: mode, sample frame, weighting and response rate are all undisclosed. The deck narrative separately claims '68% don't support teaching about gender identity before high school' and 'only 7% are comfortable teaching about gender identity in elementary school'; neither reconciles with the slide's own totals (45.1+15.5=60.6 and 5.6+8.5=14.1), so only the slide figures are recorded.

Figures below are transcribed from these documents. Where they disagree with the source, the source governs.

Wording notes: 'if any' plus an explicit 'should not be taught' option makes exclusion one of the named alternatives rather than a refusal | the phrase 'as distinct from biological sex' embeds a contested premise about the relationship between the two into the stem

neutral — an ordered age ladder with a genuine no-instruction option is a fair way to measure a threshold; the 'as distinct from biological sex' clause is the one non-neutral element, since it presupposes the distinction the item is asking about
