Verification note. Distribution taken from Gallup's own trend table (Datawrapper chart apodF), dataset.csv downloaded this session: 2025 Jan 2-15 = 10/28/23/27/11. Field dates (Jan. 2-15, 2025), interviewer (ReconMR) and n=1,005 are from the Survey Methods statement of the Gallup state-of-the-nation release for that wave. This January 2025 reading was absent from the database entirely -- the only Gallup January 2025 records held were the LGBTQ+ identification aggregate and the separate Jan. 21-27 military-service wave. || Wording, base and the full demographic crosstab were read this session from Gallup's own January 2025 satisfaction topline and tabs PDF (news.gallup.com/file/poll/656150/20250205SatisfactionLists.pdf), item X, 'The acceptance of transgender people in the nation', 'BASED ON ~505~ NATIONAL ADULTS IN FORM B', 2025 Jan 2-15 = 10 / 28 / 23 / 27, total satisfied 38 / total dissatisfied 50. Crosstab table QN15X was re-extracted with fixed-pitch layout and every column checked by summing to 99-101. Field dates and n=1,005 are from the release's Survey Methods statement. The numbers agree with Gallup's Datawrapper trend table apodF, which collapses Don't know (9%) and Refused (2%) into a single 11% 'no opinion'. Partisan pattern: total satisfied 40% among Republicans, 42% among independents, 30% among Democrats -- Republicans are now the most satisfied group, which is only intelligible once the 2026 follow-up shows that dissatisfaction runs in two opposite directions.

Wording notes: asked of a random half sample of the January Mood of the Nation sample | satisfaction framing collapses two opposite reasons for dissatisfaction (wanting more acceptance and wanting less) into a single 'dissatisfied' response, which Gallup itself disentangles only with the 2026 follow-up | explicit don't-know escape offered in the stem
unclear — The stem is neutral, but the response scale is directionally ambiguous for this subject: a respondent who wants far less acceptance of transgender people and a respondent who wants far more both record as 'dissatisfied.' Gallup's own 2026 follow-up exists precisely because the headline number cannot be read as support or opposition.
