Sportsforced choicein a trend series
trans women on women's sports teams

Should transgender women be allowed to play on women's sports teams?

No
64%
Yes
17%
Not sure
18%

Wording notes: single-sided yes/no rather than the two-alternative forced choice used in 2021 and April 2023 | no level of competition specified (not limited to school or elite sport) | restrictive answer is the No default, which tends to produce higher restriction than the balanced two-option version

tilts_restrictive — a bare should-they-be-allowed yes/no with no competing consideration stated is a harder test than the 2021 team-assignment forced choice; the 17% Yes here is not comparable to the 45% affirming share on the 2021 two-option item

Support 44%38% Oppose

Wording notes: restrictive direction is the support side | pollster prints net Support and net Oppose rows | the term gender-affirming medical care is left undefined

neutral — the item asks about a ban directly rather than about access, so support is the restrictive side; wording is symmetric, but asking the minors version first can anchor the adults version
