Public data on transgender policy, legislation and the courts

Federal actions

Federal actions that affect transgender people: executive orders, rules, guidance, funding decisions, enforcement and personnel changes, and court orders that bear on them. Each has the sources it rests on, and an action links to the court cases that challenge or enforce it.

Settlements with hospital systems announced by the U.S. Department of Justice or a state attorney general are on their own page: Settlements.

This section covers executive-branch instruments only — orders, rules, guidance, funding decisions, enforcement and personnel. Nothing litigation is listed here: not court rulings, not case filings, and not the government's own positions in court. All of that lives in the litigation archive, which tracks cases with their dockets.

Every action carries at least one source. A document chip marked PDF opens the document here, in this site's own reader, with its original source (a Federal Register notice, an agency page or a report) credited in the reader; any other chip links to the source the catalogue names for it.

Related litigation on a card links an action to the cases that challenge or enforce it, with each case's court, docket number and document count. Congressional hearings lists the hearings whose title or recording names the action; each opens the hearing's page.
